If there is something wrong mechanically with your Zippo pocket lighter, it breaks down or will not light then the Zippo Lifetime guarantee will cover it's repair. Zippo will return the lighter in first class mechanical condition for life.
It is worth noting that the guarantee only covers mechanical repairs and not cosmetic condition or general wear and tear. (ie. scratches or overall appearance of the lighter).
If you need to return your lighter to Zippo for repair under the guarantee then UK customers can send their lighter to:
Zippo European Repair Clinic
c/o Yusen Logistics (UK) Ltd
Milton Keynes Distribution Centre
Bradbourne Drive
Milton Keynes,
MK7 8BN
Please make sure that there is no fuel in the lighter. Empty the lighter and remove the inside of the lighter and allow ample time for fuel to dry/evaporate before replacing the inside of the lighter.
The Royal Mail have adopted regulations which classify used lighters as dangerous goods (even if they are empty). As a result of this classification any used lighters that are sent via Royal Mail services could be returned or destroyed (new lighters are OK).
Until the situation with Royal Mail has been fully resolved, Zippo strongly recommend that all lighters that are returned for repair should be sent via a courier company and that suitable insurance be purchased through them to cover for loss or damage, if you should so wish.
Lighters sent to Zippo for repair under the guarantee can take 6-8 weeks on average, sometimes longer.
